Generation Genius: Free and Paid Resources Online

Generation Genius is a website funded by the NSTA. The science materials cost $225/year. The website looks comprehensive in terms of resources and reminds me of PBS Kids. It offers videos, activities, readings, and assessments on different topics.

I am too cheap to sign up for it now, but you can try it out for free for a month to see if it's a good fit for you.

Freebie Focus: All About Me Science Beaker

I hunted for new and free resources and found this get-to-know-me activity. It is a beaker for students to complete on themselves and can be found here . The creator, The Crafty Teacher TX , permitted me to share this resource. It is appropriate for a middle school classroom and has questions that are great ice-breakers, like if you were on a deserted island, what three things would you need? This could be assigned on the first day of school or completed in class and posted on the walls. Nitrogen and Carbon Cycle Foldable

I was inspired to create foldables for my 6th graders on the carbon and nitrogen cycles after viewing one created by the blog " The Inspired Classroom ". She had created a much cuter one for the water cycle.
