Edheads has updated their site! I have to admit I have a vested interest since I helped create some of the content that is posted.

What's new?

STEM Mysteries have students look at phenomena and pieces of evidence to reason why something unusual has taken place. This could be an ideal activity for a day you have a sub or as an introduction to NGSS. Check out the hard work we've done over the last two years!

Freebie: Interactive 3D Models

DewWool is a newer store with many free online resources! I found the " Root Structure " diagram and thought it was too good not to share. This is for you if you need resources for students to label structures. (It also includes math and elementary education resources.) The resources appear to be simple and easy to use. One downfall, because it's free, is there are advertisements. I know this was a concern with the last school I worked at students: viewing unapproved materials via popup ads. Kahoot!

Last year, I observed a classroom using Kahoot! It is a free game reminiscent of when you play trivia against others at sports bars. You can create your own Kahoot games or find pre made games. It works like this: you create questions (or find a game) that can have up to four answers with pictures. When your game is created, you launch it and give your students the game code. They create a nickname to play that doesn't require them to create an account. Once the game starts, you need to be able to project the question and the students can answer on their smart devices or computers. My students absolutely love it!
